Description

Most think Automated GUI Testing is a bad idea. Those that have actually tried it KNOW it is; GUI testing can be slow, unpredictable and difficult to maintain. However, with a good understanding of the GUI testing problem and some clever software we can mitigate these issues. Once we have GUI tests that are fast, predictable, and easy to maintain we can start GUI Driven Design (GDD). GDD considers GUI tests as executable specs. These specs are transparent in the sense that ANYONE (dev, QA, managers, etc...) can understand, run, and verify them. Because GDD uses images, it facilitates the right level of conversation between developers and users allowing the agile team to optimize the develop-test feedback loop.
